Hi, going on to my first Venice job and Just wanted to check if the camera has the same SDI vulnerabilities as (let’s say) the Mini LF, and therefore have to follow the power first then BNC (and opposite for removal)?

Also are the SDI ports really as limited as they first seem? No viewing of LOG with the exposure Index factor applied (except for SLog 3? Surround information only on Monitor out? SDI 1 & 2 just LOG?

all the best

Hi Martin, the main SDI outputs utilize 12G-SDI capable driver IC's. We provided a cautionary note in the Ops manual advising on connection sequence.

[Note]

Check that the ground connection between the unit and

external device is securely grounded before turning the

power on. (We recommend turning on the unit and external

device after connecting a 75-ohm coaxial cable.)

When connecting an external device to the unit while the

unit is turned on, connect to the unit after connecting a 75-

ohm coaxial cable to the external device.

Regarding SDI 1, 2 these are set to SLog3 at the Base ISO. Any EI changes will not be represented for these outputs. They are clean outputs but Frame Lines can be superimposed if desired.

SDI 3, 4 can be used to display SLog3 with EI changes if Preset Look - SLog3/SG3(.C) is selected.

Hope that helps, Simon
